New School Must Meet Leed Certification
The town meeting ended with the discussion of the proposed elementary school building, set to be constructedin the spring of next year. The new building must meet leed certification requirements which was unexpected news to many town members in attendance at the meeting. One member had no idea what leed certification was and all in attendance received a thorough explanation by one of the selectmen. Another individual was concerned with the cost increase that would incur in order for the building to meet leed certification requirements. He was assured that a tremendous cost savings would be realized only one year after the building’s completion.
