A paralegal or a legal assistant has a great scope in a number of areas. One of the areas is immigration. An immigration paralegal job is like that of any other paralegal, the difference being that an immigration paralegal professional focuses on immigration issues.
The law related to immigration can be very strict and pro-active. Litigation involving immigration issues as a result can be very challenging. These cases range from green card sponsorship, H1 Visas to B-2 visa for widowed parents.
Immigration paralegal professionals work under an immigration attorney and they cannot actually practice immigration law themselves. In spite the limitations, they have a very major role to play.
