Playing Matchmaker
My best friend is a notorious matchmaker. When my boyfriend and I broke up, she came to my rescue. In her attempts to console me, she said, “You need to stop dwelling on how to get your ex boyfriend back and start thinking about the new possibilities that are out there.” She had friends at a few different schools, and she told me about a guy who had recently gotten out of a relationship with an obsessive girlfriend. She thought he might like to meet me, so she set it up. The instant I met him, I was intrigued by his friendly demeanor and quiet intelligence. I knew we were very compatible, but I did not want to rush things, seeing as how we had both recently ended a relationship.
