Fireplace Screens - Styles and Designs

For any of you who wish to have a lovely and functional fireplace screen snugly installed in their fireplace, there are designs to choose from. One design is the ones commonly observed by most fireplace screen – a mesh curtains that slide from the center to either side. The wire mesh fireplace screens are woven like a chain link fence and hang from a rod just like your curtains – and this rod is mounted from your lentil bar, the flat steel bar that supports your bricks at the top. Another design to consider is the single panel fireplace screen which is a rigid mesh panel framed on all four sides and is designed to lean against the opening although they can be free standing. The single panel screen is usually supported by feet on either side to keep the screen from falling forward and supports that project from the back into the firebox for stability. Meanwhile, a design that is a free standing single panel that has a gentle curve is known as bowed fireplace screen – this design doesn’t need the support of the front feet or rear stabilizer bars to make it stand.
