The web is reborn every 10 years

Did you know that the internet goes through a phase shift about every ten years? The experts are calling this shift web 1.0 the age when the best internet business was simply data sharing, web 2.0 the phase where social networking is the norm, and the upcoming web 3.0 the phase where the earning power shifts from the businesses to the people who used to fill those companies pockets through their freely given content. An example would be putting up a profile on myspace where all you got in return was free access to the site, and the site owner Tom made a killing off your content with ads but paid you nothing. In web 3.0 your content will earn you money not just the site owners.
