The importance of buzzwords

Many years ago I worked as a telephone solicitor for a nonprofit organization — and one of the things that we were instructed to do was to ask the people to “back” our work. For some reason the use of this key word made our sales pitches much more effective. This is an example of the effective use of buzzwords — and SEO copywriting techniques use them all the time. The reason why buzzwords are so effective is that they produce a psychological effect in the mind and emotions of the prospect — they serve to cut down resistance and make the individual more willing to do what we ask them to do.
