Paper generated by conventions

It is an accepted fact, that all conventions, no matter how large or how small, will proportionately consume vast amounts of paper. The city of Chicago is one of the leading convention hosting cities in America. This must mean good business for Printing in Chicago. Each delegate attending a convention is usually given a significant amount of printed material which will describe everything of significance related to the convention as well as the host city. Obviously, the larger the convention the greater the need for printed material.  One must wonder what happens to all this paper once the convention is over?
