Hand drums are a powerful force
Now as a classical musician, I sometimes joined in with my other musician friends and ridiculed and made fun of the poor percussionists in the back. It, I believe, has always been a common practice for positions of all kinds to poke fun at the drummers and percussionists in the back. In the real sense of the word, they don’t really make music. But they do provide the rhythm and the beat that drives our music. And personally, I’ve become quite a fan of the hand drums that they use. They add a unique flavor and somewhat primal force to any music that they are part of, and it is most appealing.
