Frame drums provided a unique sound
Personally, I found that having a frame drum in my repertoire as a percussionist, and a drummer helps add a little something that some of the other guys don’t have. So I go to apply to a band for the position of being their drummer or percussionist, I can add that not only do I own a frame drum, but that I am well versed in that frame drum. Why would this even be a concern? Simply because frame drums have been around for many centuries and add a distinct and unique voice that most bands don’t have and crave.
